Digital Scout Frequently Asked Questions

Perform a synchronization with the handheld computer. After a successful synchronization has been performed, continue to the instructions below.

These instructions vary, depending on the product and / or version. Locate your product and / or version below and follow the instructions.

For the Web Enabled products, follow these instructions. 

1. Log into the Web Enabled internet account.
2. Select your Team or Create a Team if you have not already done this.
3. The downloads are available on the right side of the page.

For Statware Baseball 3.0 or higher, Statware Basketball v4.0 or higher, Statware Football v5.0 or higher, Scoutware Football v3.0 or higher, Statware Hockey v1.0 or higher, Statware Soccer v5.0 or higher, Statware Softball v3.0 or higher, Statware Volleyball v5.0 or higher, follow these instructions. Please note there are separate instructions for Palm and Pocket PC users.

Palm users:

1. Open the Scoutware / Statware program on the desktop computer.
2. Click Tools. Go to Utilities, then go to Palm Utilities, and click Install Palm Application.
3. Read the message. If you choose Yes, the handheld install tool will launch. Select your handheld username from the drop-down list and click OK. You must select the username of the handheld computer you are installing the application on. (If you are unsure of the username, turn the handheld computer on and tap on the HotSync icon. The username is located in the upper right corner.)
4. Click the "X" (in the upper right) or Done.
5. Perform a HotSync. The Statware application will transfer over to the handheld computer after the HotSync. 

Pocket PC users:

1. Open the Statware program on the desktop computer.
2. Click Tools. Go to Utilities, then go to Pocket PC Utilities, and click Install Pocket PC Application.
3. Read the message. If you choose Yes, the handheld install tool will launch.
4. Follow the instructions. If you are asked to install / repair Microsoft SQL Mobile and / or Microsoft .NET Compact Framework (CF), choose Yes.
5. Click Finish at the end of the installation process.
6. The Statware program will transfer to the handheld computer.
7. If this does not work, continue to the instructions below.
1.  Locate the Digital Scout folder on the computer's hard drive.  The default location is C:\Program Files\Digital Scout and then the product name (Statware Baseball, Statware Basketball, etc.) and version.
2. Locate the .msi file and double click on it.  If you cannot view file extensions, you will need to adjust this preference, usually found through Tools - Folder Options.
   

For Statware Baseball v2.0 and prior, Statware Basketball v3.0 and prior, Scoutware Football v2.0, Statware Football v3.0 and prior, Statware Soccer v3.0 and prior, Statware Softball v2.0 and prior, Statware Volleyball v3.0 and prior, follow these instructions.

1. Double click on My Computer. 
2. Double click on C: (hard or local drive). 
3. Double click on Program Files. (If no files are shown, click on Show Files.) 
4. Double click on Digital Scout or DS Statware. 
5. Double click on the specific sport folder (baseball, basketball, etc.). (If you cannot locate this folder proceed to the next step.) 
6. Double click on PRC. 
7. Double click on the file located in this folder. 
8. Select the username from the drop-down menu of the handheld computer you are installing the application on. (If you are unsure of the username, turn the handheld computer on. Tap on the HotSync icon. The username is located in the upper right corner.) 
9. Click OK. 
10. Click Done. 
11. Perform a HotSync. The Statware application will transfer over to the handheld computer after the HotSync.

For Scoutware Baseball and Scoutware Softball, follow these instructions.

1. Double click My Computer.
2. Double click C: (hard or local drive).
3. Double click Program Files. (If no files are shown, click Show Files.)
4. Double click Digital Scout.
5. Double click on the specific sport folder (baseball, hockey, etc.).
6. Double click on the Palm Application file. (If you cannot find this file, click View and then click Details in the upper left.) The handheld install tool will launch.
7. Select your handheld username from the drop-down list. You must select the username of the handheld computer you are installing the application on. (If you are unsure of the username, turn the handheld computer on and tap on the HotSync icon. The username is located in the upper right.)
8. Click Done or click the “X” (in the upper right) to close.
9. Perform a HotSync. The Statware application will transfer to the handheld computer after the HotSync.
