Digital Scout Frequently Asked Questions

Web Enabled Statware Basketball and Web Enabled Statware Football products:

• Required: High speed internet connection when uploading or accessing stats.
• Optional: Windows XP (Service Pack 2 or later), Windows Vista, or Windows 7 required for desktop application.
• Optional: Palm Operating System of 3.1 or higher, including Hotsync Manager 6.0 or higher for handheld application.
• If you need to get an updated version of HotSync Manager, please download it from the Palm web site at:

• Optional: Pocket PC 2003 or higher, Windows Mobile 5.0 (2005), or Windows Mobile 6.0 or higher.

Statware Hockey and all Player Edition products:

• Required: Windows 98 or higher, excluding ME for desktop application.
• Optional: Handheld computer

Statware Track and Field product:

• Can be used strictly on a desktop / laptop computer.
  
• Windows 98 or higher, excluding ME.

Scoutware Baseball and Scoutware Softball products:

• Required: Windows 98 or higher, excluding ME for desktop application.
  
• Optional: Handheld computer 
• Palm Operating System of 3.1 or higher.

Also, please keep in mind that Pocket PC 2003 and Windows Mobile 2005 and newer devices that do not have touch screens (such as the Motorola Q smartphone and other smartphones) will not be able to effectively use the software, as the touch screen is used to control the software.

What version of Pocket PC/Windows Mobile handhelds are compatible with Digital Scout software?

Please note that we do not provide support for Windows running on a Macintosh with Boot Camp or Parallels or any other kind of Windows virtualization software. Digital Scout software is not compatible with any version of the Macintosh Operating Systems at this time.

Palm users:

• Follow these instructions to determine the Palm handheld computer Operating System:
  • On the handheld computer home screen, tap on the clock on the upper left and a menu appears.
  • Tap Info.
  • Tap Version.
• Follow these instructions to determine the version of Palm Desktop on your computer:
  • Open Palm desktop.
  • Click Help.
  • Click About Palm Desktop
• Follow these instructions to determine the version of HotSync Manager on your computer:
  • Right click on the HotSync icon in the lower right corner of your screen (it appears as a circular icon with red and blue arrows).
  • If the menu that appears has only 3 options (Settings, Install, and Exit), select Settings, and the version number is shown in the lower left corner of the HotSync Manager window that appears.
  • If the menu that appears has more than 3 options that start at the top with Local USB, select About, and the version number is shown on the first line of the About HotSync Manager window that appears.

Pocket PC users:

• Follow these instructions to determine the Pocket PC handheld computer Operating System.
  • On the handheld computer home screen, tap Start.
  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap System.
  • Tap About.
• Follow these instructions to determine the Pocket PC ActiveSync desktop Operating System.
  • Open ActiveSync.
  • Click Help.
  • Click About Microsoft ActiveSync.
